flawsinmoderation asked: oh, so it's very near then! You are almost a doctor! Congratulations! Hmm, I'm Brazilian and tapioca flour is pretty common here, although we only use it to make our 'tapiocas' (have you heard of them? A bit crunchy and you can fill it with any flavours you want?). That's why I told you to try to make the Brazilian Carrot Cake - because a) I from there and b) more people should know about it. So, where are you from? I thought you were from the US and just had a cool name!
Thank you! It’s something I’m both very nervous [read: scared out of my mind] and excited about. I’ve never heard of tapiocas but I looked it up and it is very similar to something we have here called Putu Bambu:

but instead of pancake-shaped and filled with coconut, its a tube stuffed with brown sugar and coconut.
Haha I’m like a nationality chameleon - I’ve been mistaken for a Viet, a Thai, a Korean all thanks to the food and now an American, I guess :)
I’m actually from Indonesia and my weird name (even by Indonesian standards) is an abbreviation of some sort for a string of words in Bahasa: Pi (putri, meaning daughter) ga (gabungan, meaning from the union of) mi (Minang, my father’s tribe), tha (Thapanuli, my mother’s tribe) Di (di bulan, meaning in the month of) mar (Maret, or March). My father has his quirks like that.
