Notions & Notations of a Novice Cook - Making Herbed Fries

Making Herbed Fries

Make this with a sack of frozen chips if you feel like you can’t handle the task of chopping up potatoes. If you’re not inebriated, I’d recommend swapping half or the entire amount of frozen potatoes with sweet potatoes, toss it with a bit of EVOO and baking it for a healthier take.

HERBED FRIES:

[ 4 cups frozen steak fries or thick cut potatoes + 1 1/2 tablespoon flour + 1-1/2 teaspoons dried basil + 1-1/2 teaspoons dried parsley flake or fennel seed + 1/4 teaspoon salt + 1/4 teaspoon black pepper + oil for frying ]

Put the potatoes in a bowl and toss it with the flour to coat

Deep fry in batches and season with the dried herbs and salt

Alternatively, you can go for the healthier option by:

Pre-heating the oven to 400 degrees.

Tossing together potatoes and flour in a large bowl. Then adding the rest of the ingredients until potatoes are evenly coated with oil and spices.

Place potatoes on a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes until the edges are crisp, or until done.

Serve hot with ketchup

Enjoy!
