Making Cherry & Shortbread Affogato

I probably shouldn’t have done this, but I can’t help myself. I just sat one of my finals today and have two tomorrow - and yet I can’t stop myself from posting this up. I’m a cooking addict; though thank goodness this one’s only a short post. So enjoy, I guess?

CHERRY & SHORTBREAD AFFOGATO:

[ 1/4 cup hot Espresso (either instant or made with an Espresso maker. I used instant Espresso powder and added a smidgen of sugar) + Vanilla ice cream of gelato, 1-2 scoop per person + canned black or red cherries in syrup, 5 per person + shortbread cookies, 3-4 per person ]

Make your espresso and set it aside.

Get some nice cups or bowls and break in the shortbread cookies

Spoon in the cherries on top with some of the syrup

Scoop the vanilla ice cream or gelato on top

Pour the espresso over ice cream or gelato.

Take a bite (make sure to get all the components!), close your eyes and wallow in the velvety bliss.
